Alabama Crimson Tide running back Trey Sanders has announced that he will transfer to the TCU Horned Frogs. The former five-star running back recruit is the third former crimson tide player to commit to the Horned Frogs this offseason. His role with Alabama was limited this season, but still had several power five programs interested in him due to his high school ranking. Sanders has two years of eligibility left that he can use with the TCU Horned Frogs. The program has a National Championship game to play in, but continues to attract top-level recruits in that time span.

In his three-year career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Trey Sanders has rushed the ball 116 times for 528 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 66 yards and zero touchdowns in that time with Alabama. Sanders joins former Alabama teammates, wide receiver JoJo Earle and offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer as players to join the TCU Horned Frogs football program.
TCU Head Coach Sonny Dykes has lofty goals and explained them in a statement: “We expect to compete against Alabama, not only in recruiting but on the field, so the thing you don’t want to start doing is taking a bunch of guys at Alabama that can’t play for them. Because in theory, they shouldn’t be able to play for you either.” So he clearly views Trey Sanders and his two teammates differently due to him adding them to the program.
