It seemed that the FBI scandal that LSU found themselves involved in took a toll on the school’s 2019 recruiting class. After Will Wade ultimately did not testify in the trial and was also reinstated he pulls in his first five-star of the class. Trendon Watford, a five-star power forward has committed to the school. Watford is a versatile forward that sort of fancies himself a wing but operates best as a four.
He’s not the most athletic, lacking the elite athleticism most other five-stars posses. Watford makes up for that with outstanding length possessing a 7’4″ wingspan on his 6’8″ frame. He’s got an ability to play inside and out and is the perfect college power forward nowadays.
I want to sincerely thank everybody who recruited me through out this entire process. This by far have been the biggest and toughest decision of my life but with great support and prayer from my family and closest friends I will be attending Louisiana State University?? #BOOTUP pic.twitter.com/VZiEKKkOLC

Watford is coming to LSU after a mass exodus of the talented team that reached the Sweet 16. The team is losing two of its best players in Tremont Waters and Naz Reid both of whom have declared for the draft with Waters confirming he is staying in. Javonte Smart is returning which should help. Watford could team with Emmitt Williams to form a solid frontcourt for the Tigers that could help keep them in the top half of the SEC next year.
