During the spring of 2019, it was reported that DJ Paul of Three-Six Mafia filed a lawsuit against Travis Scott over the use of the repetitive line “fu*k the club up” in Travis Scott’s song NO BYSTANDERS. DJ Paul sued for $20 million and aimed to get the track removed from ASTROWORLD, claiming Travis Scott uses Three-Six Mafia’s cadence, sound and performed their exact hook during the 2019 Grammy awards.
Now, it seems as the two have opted to settle. The Blast reports the lawsuit has been resolved with a tentative settlement.
“However, the parties require additional time to sign all of the paperwork (including paperwork for the U.S. Copyright Office) and to make a settlement payment. I believe that an additional 30 days will be sufficient to fully and finally complete settlement of this matter, and hope that the Court will indulge the parties one last time.” says DJ Pauls lawyer according to The Blast.
While the amount has yet to be made public, once the payment is received, the case is closed and both artists can move forward.
