Sci-Fi Noir has suddenly become very popular again in cinema. With the success of Ryan Gosling’s‘ Blade Runner: 2049’, Netflix is taking full advantage of our sweet spot, Sci-Fi movies. With a hand-full of sci-fi related movies and TV shows coming to the streaming services it could become hard to catch up. However, there is one movie that you should keep your eye on… ‘Mute’. Directed and created by Duncan Jones, who is best known for his movies ‘Warcraft’, ‘Sourcecode’ and ‘Moon’ (Which is the ‘spiritual sequel to this movie’. Jones takes on the Sci-Fi Noir realm of cinema this time, having a story set in Berlin, 2052.
In ‘Mute’ a mute bartender goes up against city gangsters to find out what happened to his missing partner. In what is geared up to be a very intense movie, Paul Rudd brings on that comedic relief that we’ve always known him for. Along with Rudd the movie is set to star Alexander Skarsgard and release on February 23rd on Netflix.
