A couple of years ago, there were reports that the Transformers were working on different spinoffs for characters in the franchise with the beloved Bumblebee being one of them. Now we officially have a trailer for the Bumblebee movie and it definitely isn’t what you’d expect, Bumblebee is a badass.
The movie is set to star Hailee Steinfield as Bumblebee’s ‘driver’ and Peter Cullen will reprise his role as Optimus Prime. John Cena is also set to star in the Flick as Agent Burns who, from the trailer, seems to be opposing Bumblebee. From what I can see in the trailer, this looks like a coming of age movie for Charlie (played by Steinfield) who will have to battle with her own life drama along with the drama that a talking cybernetic car would bring to ones life. Regardless, the movie should have a ton of action and hopefully give some much needed life to the Transformers franchise. The movie kind of reminds me of Iron Giant.
