Trade rumors are in full effect and whirling rapidly. Experts have advised all to hunker down, take shelter, and refresh Twitter every 15 seconds. The latest report to come whizzing out of the trade whirlwind arrives all the way from Portland. Per Sam Amico of Amico Hoops, the Trail blazers are reportedly listening to offers for star point guard, Damian Lillard.

If this report proves to be true it would be a shocking development. There has been a lot of questions about the Trail blazers’ duo and if they are capable enough defensively to anchor a team. Their 23-33 record has done nothing but amplified these talks. This rumor may have given the NBA community an inkling on which player they would be more apt to keep. It is, however, entirely more likely that the Trail blazers are simply listening.
This is not unheard of around the trade deadline. GM’s make calls, it never hurts to ask, it also never hurts to listen. It is completely possible certain teams were simply making calls for Damian Lillard and not for C. J. McCollum. Nonetheless, it is interesting Portland did not instantly hang up when asked about Lillard.
