After losing four of their five starters in free agency, the Portland Trail Blazers are looking to sign former Wizard Rasual Butler. After being the last man to make the Washington roster last season, Butler played better than anybody would have expected.
One free agent target for the Blazers: Veteran small forward Rasual Butler

He struggled to see much time for the Wizards in the postseason, but was a huge part of their success during the regular season. In 20.1 minutes per game, Butler averaged 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, .8 assists, .4 steals, and .3 blocks.
Last season, Butler’s main job was to stand outside on the perimeter, wait for John Wall to penetrate, and prepare for a kick out and shot. Portland has another great guard in Damian Lillard, who would do a great job of finding Butler outside for open threes.
If Butler ends up moving on from Washington to Portland, the Trail Blazers would be gaining a player who could quietly help them a lot for the coming season. The guard will be missed in DC, but could make even larger contributions elsewhere.
