The independent road of music is always a tough one but Macklemore & Ryan Lewis proved that they don’t need a major label push to win. With Ryan on the production side and Macklemore on the raps, this duo can’t be stopped. The fun side shows in “Thrift Shop” and “Castle”, while the serious side kicks in when he gives an ode to the Seattle Mariners and the late Dave Niehaus and well as showing his support for gay rights on “Same Love”. Hard work pays off and “The Heist” proves it.
