Months ago, former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew riled up his fan base by hinting that he may appear on the big screen in 2022. During an interview with MSN, he told reporters that his character, Ricky Conlan, may be getting released from prison soon and would like to make a comeback.
“Michael B. Jordan is directing this third one, all will be revealed soon I would imagine,” he said.
“For now, ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan is still in the penitentiary, I’m sure he’ll want to come out and make some noise, being the pound-for-pound king that he was before he got locked up.”
Earlier this month, Bellew confirmed that he would return for Creed III as Ricky Conlan. However, he didn’t offer any more details regarding the plot.
“I’ve just done number three as well now. I haven’t just done it once, I’ve done it twice so now I can say I’m an actor as well. You are the first people to hear it,” he said during ITV’s documentary, Against All Odds.
Jonathan Majors is expected to play the role of Jordan’s primary foe, but there could possibly be a twist along the way. Fans will have an opportunity to see how it all plays out when Creed III hits theater in November.
