The Jacksonville Jaguars are moving on from Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has released a statement in regards to Coughlin’s firing, as most or all expectations for this season have so far been squandered.
The #Jaguars have just fired Tom Coughlin, I'm told.

Coughlin was first a part of the Jaguars organization in 1995 during their inaugural season, serving as the team’s Head Coach until 2002. Coughlin later became Head Coach of the New York Giants, leading the team to two Super Bowl titles prior to returning to the Jaguars as Executive Vice President of Football Operations in 2017.
The Jaguars are currently sitting at 5-9, last place in the AFC South, having alternated between Nick Foles and rookie Gardner Minshew at Quarterback throughout this tumultuous season, notable for the trade demands leveraged by superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey, leaving the team for the Los Angeles Rams.
On Sunday, the Jaguars snapped their five-game losing streak with a comeback win against the Oakland Raiders 20-16, little consolation for the fact that they are eliminated from playoff contention, and not enough to ensure Tom Coughlin’s job security.
