Watt had an unbelievable season with 22.5 sacks to tie Michael Strahan’s record for most in NFL history since sacks began being recorded in 1982. He also was tied, along with Nick Bosa for the most tackles for loss this season with 21.
“I grew up coming to this award show. I think I have been five or six times and never came home with hardware and every time I left more motivated. I promise this only motivates me more”, said Watt in his acceptance speech.
To put the cherry on top of the cake, his brother JJ Watt a three-time winner of the award was in charge of announcing TJ as the winner.
