TJ Ducklo has opted to resign from his position as White House Deputy Press Secretary after being accused of making “derogatory and misogynistic comments” toward Politico reporter Tara Palmeri. As news of his resignation became public, Ducklo issued a public statement via Twitter. He called the language he used toward Palmeri “abhorrent, disrespectful, and unacceptable.”
“No words can express my regret, my embarrassment, and my disgust for my behavior,” he stated.

“I used language that no woman should ever have to hear from anyone, especially in a situation where she was just trying to do her job.”
Ducklo’s obscene comments reportedly stem from a conflict between him and Politico. The media outlet was allegedly pursuing a story about his relationship with Axios reporter Alexi McCammond. After learning about the story, Ducklo reportedly called her and threatened to “destroy” her among other things.
