The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to trade Anthony Bennett according to reports. Bennett, who was the first overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, was traded to Minnesota last summer from the Cavs with Andrew Wiggins in exchange for Kevin Love.
Bennett, who plays power forward, has yet to live up to his potential after being drafted first overall out of UNLV. In two seasons, Bennett has averages of 4.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, on 39% shooting from the field.
A shoulder injury coming out of college plagued Bennett throughout his rookie season in Cleveland, but he made small progressions after moving to the Wolves, who were hopeful that the change of scenery would spark a change in fortunes.
Now that Minnesota has the first selection in this years draft, and it’s widely speculated that they’ll take Karl-Anthony Towns of Kentucky, Bennett would likely get less playing time and becomes more expendable for the Wolves.
