Tim Allen is returning to the small screen in the near future. Variety has reported that Allen will play the role of Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause.
“In the series, Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole,” the series’ description reads.
“With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.”
Allen originally picked up the role of Scott Calvin in 1994’s The Santa Clause. Led by Allen, the film picked up $190 million worldwide. The success of the original film spawned The Santa Clause II and The Santa Clause III.
At this time, it is unclear who will star alongside Allen or when the series will debut.
