The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to solidify their rotation following the acquisition of Paul George. They have signed Raymond Felton to a one-year deal and he will presumably be the backup for reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.

Felton spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers mainly as the backup for Chris Paul. With the Clippers going in a different, and younger, direction at the point guard spot there was no need to re-sign the free agent. Since Felton left the New York Knicks in 2014 he’s spent the last three years as a backup after spending the better part of the first nine seasons of his NBA career as a starter.
Felton could provide solid backup point guard minutes behind Russell Westbrook, something the Thunder have been looking for basically since Reggie Jackson the team. Felton won’t be playing at the same high-level pace that Russell Westbrook is but he is a good veteran presence off the bench.
