Can the OKC Thunder endure any more bad news?
With the loss of Kevin Durant till December and role players Reggie Jackson, Anthony Morrow and Jeremy Lamb all dealing with ailments that’ll keep them out for awhile; it couldn’t get any worse, right? Well it did when Russell Westbrook suffered a small fracture in the second metacarpal of his right hand during the second quarter of their loss to the Clippers on Thursday. The injury has him out 4-6 weeks initially, but with talks of surgery, a timetable for his return is uncertain.
According to general manager Sam Presti, Russell Westbrook underwent further evaluation by outside consultants on his fractured right hand Friday and the process will continue Saturday. Westbrook remains without an official timetable as the team weighs the possibility of a procedure to repair his hand.
“At this stage, surgery is a consideration for this particular injury,” Presti told ESPN.com. “If there were to be a procedure, we would provide a time frame at that point.”
