It seems as if with each week comes even greater news for The Weeknd appears. Arguably enough, No. 1 is starting to become synonymous with The Weeknd’s name. If that’s a stretch, Beauty Behind The Madness definitely makes for a strong comparison. Just last week reported that the singer made Billboard history as he charted at No. 1 on three of Billboard’s charts simultaneously, making him the first solo male to do so. As of this week, the news continues to pour in as the singer tops Billboard’s Top 200 with Beauty Behind The Madness for a third week. That isn’t even the best news as the singer’s current single, ‘The Hills’, has replaced its dear partner ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Weeknd replaces himself atop the Billboard Hot 100 as “The Hills” ascends 2-1, dethroning his own “Can’t Feel My Face,” down 1-3, after three nonconsecutive weeks on top. The Weeknd is the first artist to rule successively since Taylor Swift last year and the first solo male to lead back-to-back since T.I. in 2008.
Literally swapping places with himself on the single’s chart, this feat isn’t something that has been accomplished by many of his peers. Say what you want about him and his music, but The Weeknd is accomplishing what only some can dream of.
