The Toronto Raptors and back up Point Guard Greivis Vasquez have reached an agreement on a 2 year $13 million dollar deal according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. The Raptors Point Guard averaged 9 PPG 4 AST last season while coming off the bench to back up starting Point Guard Kyle Lowry. Vasquez was a pretty good Point Guard in New Orleans and went on to have a disappointing season with Sacramento. After Toronto acquired Vasquez in the Rudy Gay deal Vasquez has seemed to fit right in with what Toronto is doing. Vasquez has been pretty efficient in his NBA career and that’s why he’s so valuable to Toronto going forward. Being able to sit Lowry and have a Point Guard that can score and give you good possessions with the basketball whether it’s with his scoring touch or his court vision it’s a big key to having a successful bench. Toronto’s biggest need at the moment is depth, and with the re signing of the Venezuelan Point Guard it can only help their cause.
The Raptors have re signed their key free agents, and I expect them to focus more on bringing in a couple role players to fill out this roster.
