Few films reportedly performed better over Independence Day weekend than The Tomorrow War. According to Amazon, more than two million households tuned into the action film over the holiday weekend. As a result, the streaming platform is already looking to create a sequel for its high-performing piece.
Thus far, The Tomorrow War has proven to be Amazon’s best-performing film. Over the last few months, Amazon Prime has picked up other major releases like Sylvie’s Love, Without Remorse and Coming 2 America. Despite the star power showcase in the aforementioned films, the Chris Pratt-led film won viewers over and earned a fan rating of 4.5 stars out 5 stars.
“Thank you to everyone who watched The Tomorrow War this weekend. The first 48 hours of global viewing for The Tomorrow War on Prime Video broke all the records. [It is the] #1 streaming film in the world,” Pratt wrote in an Instagram post thanking fans.
Details regarding a second film are scarce, but viewers would expect to see fan favorites like Dan Forester, Gator and Martin back for another movie.
