Universal Pictures has hired Alex Kurtzman to direct their upcoming reboot of ‘The Mummy’.
According to Deadline, Kurtzman will be working with Chris Morgan on the franchise.
Universal announced earlier this month, that it plans to reboot many of their classic monster movies including ‘Frankenstein’, ‘Dracula’ and ‘The Invisible Man’.
The most recent reboot of ‘The Mummy’ was back in 1999 starring Brendan Frasier. It grossed $415 million worldwide and spawned a sequel and the Dwayne Johnson spinoff ‘The Scorpion King’.
No release date has been set for the film yet.
