The month of May will surely be one of the most fruitful stretches of the year for movie theaters around the nation. Vin Diesel and his crew will return to theaters with the release of Fast X. Alongside Vin Diesel, Marvel has plans to unleash Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at the start of the month. With all of that going on, Walt Disney Studios has already reserved its spot in theaters on May 26, 2023 with the release of the Halle Bailey-led The Little Mermaid.
Any production of The Little Mermaid is highly-anticipated. However, this edition of the timeless story has garnered major attention as Halle Bailey becomes the first Black female actress to play the role of Ariel in a major feature film. Throughout the picture, she will be joined by an all-star cast that includes Daveed Diggs, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Melissa McCarthy, Simone Ashley and many others.
Two months stand in between moviegoers and the release of The Little Mermaid, but Walt Disney Studios has offered an early gift to fans on the biggest night in Hollywood. During tonight’s broadcast of the 95th Academy Awards, Walt Disney Studios set the stage for the film’s trailer to shine on ABC.
