
On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 years old.
“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother,” Queen Elizabeth II’s son, King Charles III, said.
“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
Immediately after Queen Elizabeth passed away, reports began to depict how her death may impact several entities. Most notably, a number of events were canceled, businesses were impacted, etc. Among those impacted appear to be Netflix. Several television insiders have reported that Netflix’s The Crown will pause production of the show’s sixth season indefinitely. Early reports indicated that the show would explore the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death in season six. However, the show’s representatives have not confirmed anything regarding the plot of the potential season.
Netflix may delay the production of season six, but it does appear that season five will still debut in November. Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce will portray Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, respectively. Meanwhile, Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki will star as Princess Diana and Prince Charles. The talented cast and crew will explore the events of the 1990’s and Princess Diana’s tragic death.
