Even with the struggles last season the 33-year old gives the Texans continued stability at the position for next year and have paired him with newly signed Aaron Colvin as a solid starting pair for 2018.
After being drafted by the Bengals in the first round in 2006, Johnathan Joseph has played sevens straight year in Houston. While he is 33 a two-year deal won’t hurt the Texans too much if his play begins to decline and he will always remain important as a vocal leader in the locker room.
While his age is up there in regard to CB’s in the NFL Joseph still plays at a starting level. He plays with a lot of physicality to make up for the speed lost due to his age. Joseph said his decision came down to Houston and Oakland but ultimately he realized the Texans is the team he wanted to be a part of.
