The Toronto Raptors recently inked swingman Terrence Ross to an extension at the tune of three-years worth $33 million. Now, Ross is out indefinitely with a thumb ligament injury.
The Raptors released the following on their media relations twitter account.

Re-signing Ross was a strange decision by Toronto, something that would’ve easily gone either way especially considering that the Raptors are a team that would definitely be excited about having cap room this summer and going forward to chase some big name free agents. Ross hasn’t been that great of a player to this point in his career filled with high-flying dunks.
Ross had been struggling this season, shooting the lowest percentages of his career from the field and from three-point range. He’s playing just 17.4 minutes per game, his field goal percentage is at 36.4 percent and 3-point percentage stands at 28 percent. The thumb injury may have had something to do with that—hopefully when he comes back, his shooting improves. Then again, he’s shot pretty horribly before so maybe it’s just him, not the thumb.
