Two teams that made big moves at the start of the 2016 NFL Free Agency found themselves with players that immediately became expendable.
For the New York Giants, they signed Damon Harrison and Olivier Vernon to huge contracts while also re-signing Jason Pierre-Paul so defensive end Robert Ayers became expendable. The Miami Dolphins made a deal to acquire Byron Maxwell from the Philadelphia Eagles and it immediately made Pro Bowl corner Brent Grimes expendable.
Both Robert Ayers and Brent Grimes have found new homes in Florida by electing to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Following from Adam Schefter and Ed Werder of ESPN.
Buccaneers signed former Giant Robert Ayers: 3-years, 19.5 million, could get to 21 million, per source. Pass rusher for Bucs.
