After being reunited with his former coach in Minnesota, Taj Gibson landed in some trouble with the law. According to Jace Frederick of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press, Taj Gibson was arrested after driving with a suspended license.
Taj Gibson was arrested for driving with a suspended license early Thursday morning in New York, according to the New York Police Department.
Gibson, a 6-foot-9 forward who agreed to a two-year, $28 million deal with the Timberwolves last weekend, was pulled over after making an illegal U-turn in Queens.
During the stop, a computer check revealed Gibson’s Illinois driver’s license was suspended.
Gibson was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator and a VTL violation for the U-turn.
He was released early Thursday morning and is due back in court Sept. 1.
Gibson will likely start next season next to soon to be All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns and should play well with the up and coming Minnesota Timberwolves.
