The NBA season may not start for a few more weeks, but Brooklyn Nets Kevin Durant is already in mid-season form. His work with Thirty Five Ventures has landed partnerships with the Rory & Mal podcast, Overtime Elite and many more entities. Now, he’s venturing further into the original series space. Earlier this weekend, Apple announced that the DMV native’s new series, Swagger, will debut on October 29.
“Inspired by Durant’s experiences, Swagger explores the world of youth basketball, and the players, their families and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption. Off the court, the show reveals what it’s like to grow up in America,” the show’s description reads.
The series will be led by Den of Thieves star O’Shea Jackson Jr., who will star as a youth basketball coach. Jackson Jr. will be joined by Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, The Wire star Tristan “Mack” Wilds, Isaiah Hill, Tessa Ferrer, Caleel Harris, James Bingham and Solomon Irama.
Durant’s right-hand man Rich Kleiman, Samie Kim Falvey, Francie Calfo and Samantha Corbin-Miller will serve as executive producers.
