The Toronto Raptors have decided to waive wing Svi Mykhailiuk after just one season with the franchise. He is currently playing for the Ukrainian national team in the FIBA EuroBasket. Since being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft he has bounced around the league a bit. He has spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder, and finally spent last season with the Toronto Raptors. Now he will look for another fresh start in the NBA.

Last season as a member of the Toronto Raptors, Svi Mykhailiuk averaged 4.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game in 12.8 minutes per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 38.9 percent and a three-point percentage of 30.6 percent. In the 2022 NBA Playoffs, the Raptors played him just 1.7 minutes per game for just three games. He did not really provide much of an impact for the team in those limited minutes in those three NBA Playoff games.

The Toronto Raptors needed to make a decision about who would and wouldn’t stay on the roster. Svi Mykhailiuk was the odd man out, but he could find another team before the NBA season starts. He is considered a fairly good three-point shooter and that has value in the current landscape of the NBA.
