Much has been said about this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. In fact, an argument can be made that more has been said about those who declined to perform at this year’s halftime show than those who are. Throughout the past few months, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Cardi B have all allegedly turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl. Despite the number of big time acts who have allegedly declined the opportunity, the NFL still managed to pull in a number of big names. Just weeks prior to this year’s big game, news broke that Travis Scott and Big Boi would join Maroon 5 in Atlanta.
As the news broke, Travis Scott took the majority of the heat from everyone from Hot 97’s Ebro to your average Twitter user. Still, Scott tried to make good on the decision to perform by partnering with the NFL to donate $500,000 to Dream Corps, a non profit led by CNN’s Van Jones. Despite his efforts, Scott still took on a major amount of criticism. Still, Scott decided to move forward with his performance.
Today, the time came for Big Boi and Travis Scott to make good on their decision to perform. Check out the full performance above and let us know what you think Did Travis Scott and Big Boi make the right decision?
