Little did everyone know in May when Stephen Curry was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, the MVP award would only be the first piece of hardware that the ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ would win this summer.
He and the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers and were crowned NBA Champions. Curry went on to the ESPY’s and won the award for ‘Best NBA Player’ and ‘Best Male Athlete’.
Curry even won an award at the Nickelodeon ‘Kids’ Choice Spots Awards’.
A source now tells Def Pen Radio that Curry will be winning more awards during the NBPA’s first annual ‘Players Awards’. Curry was voted as the ‘Clutch Performer’ and ‘Hardest Player to Guard’. Steph beat out a list of some prime NBA talent to win these awards.
Curry won the ‘Clutch Performer’ and ‘Hardest to Guard’ awards over James Harden, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.
It wasn’t a clean sweep for Curry in all the categories he was nominated in. Houston Rockets star guard James Harden beat out Curry, LeBron, Westbrook and Davis to win the MVP award, as voted by the players.
The show is set to air on BET tonight (July 21st) at 8PM.
