One of the most notorious figures in the entire entertainment industry, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is always looking for ways to branch out into new endeavors. After the Carolina Panthers revealed that owner Jerry Richardson would be selling the franchise amid an NFL investigation, it appears Diddy found exactly what he was looking for.
I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!

There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.

Diddy had brought up NFL ownership in the past, stating that he wanted to buy the entire league. Though that was never really plausible, buying a single franchise is, especially with help from some friends. After the rapper took to social media to reveal his plans regarding the franchise, diehard Panthers fan and two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry let it be known he also wants in.
I? want in! https://t.co/XvvC1vo7xI

Diddy would hardly be one of the pioneers in this field, as plenty of high profile celebrities own parts of professional sports teams. For Steph though, it’s a little different. Curry having part ownership would be a bold move as not many athletes buy a franchise during their playing days though the Williams sisters stand as another exception.
Diddy also took to Instagram to discuss what his goals would be with the Panthers, including winning multiple Super Bowl rings and also signing former 49ers quarterback and political activist Colin Kaepernick.
Diddy has been in Colin Kaepernick’s corner ever since he became a highly polarizing figure for seemingly forfeiting his professional career to focus more on social issues.
Though Kaepernick may not be all in on competing for a starting job with former league MVP Cam Newton, he does want in on buying the franchise similar to Steph Curry.
I want in on the ownership group! Let’s make it happen! https://t.co/sDR4ciciY8

This trio owning an NFL franchise could be exactly what the league needs amidst all the controversy it has been drowning in lately. Diddy, Curry, and Kaepernick are all powerful in their own way, a dynamic that would be intriguing if it were to be in the Carolina Panthers’ front office.
