A new year will mark the beginning of a new season for Netflix’s hit series, Squid Game. After becoming a cultural phenomenon in 2021, Squid Game will reportedly return for a second season later this year.
“Looking ahead, despite last year’s strikes pushing back the launch of some titles, we have a big, bold slate for 2024,” Netflix reportedly told investors.

Additionally, Yim Si-wan, Park Sung-hoon, Park Gyu-young, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won and Kang Ha-Neul will step into new roles for the sophomore season. New and returning stars will return for the start of production later this year under the direction of Hwang Dong-hyuk.
Squid Game is not the only hit series returning to Netflix in 2024. Peter White of Deadline has also revealed that fans can expect new seasons of The Diplomat and Bridgerton to hit the streaming platform later this year. While season two of The Diplomat does not yet have a release date, part one of Bridgerton‘s new season is set to debut on May 16, 2024.
