Spike Jonze has been a very busy man as of late. In recent years, he’s been the man behind a number of big commercial spots such as Idris Elba‘s Squarespace campaign and FKA Twigs spot in an Apple ad. Meanwhile, Jesse Williams has been equally active through his work with The Advancement Project and his role on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Jackson Avery. Going forward, Williams and Jonze will team up to share their creative talents.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Spike Jonze has signed on to direct Jesse Williams in a short film called MedMen. MedMen “chronicles the history of cannabis in America from the pre-prohibition era through today.” The film is expected to focus on the MedMen company that has locations in five different states.
Williams and Jonze were spotted in Los Angeles together last week at a dispensary. There is no word at the moment who else may be in the cast and when the film may be released. More details will be reported as they become available.
