Sonny Weems has finally made his return to the NBA. After spending 4 years in Europe, playing for multiple leagues, he has made it back. Weems was one of the first players to ditch the NBA for Europe when the lock out occurred in 2011.
According to Chris Broussard of ESPN:
Sources: Sonny Weems and Phoenix Suns agree to 2-year deal worth $5.8 million

Weems played for the Raptors before the lockout and clocked in a lot of minutes for a team that was struggling. With the Phoenix Suns it’s a different story. He will be fighting for minutes with P.J Tucker, Gerald Green and T.J Warren. Weems adds even more athletic ability to a team that already likes to run and gun. I haven’t been catching up with Europe basketball, but the transition is hard.
