
UPDATE: FX has opted to honor the legacy of the show’s late co-creator, John Singleton, by continuing to name his an executive producer moving forward. The late John Singleton passed away earlier this week after suffering a stroke. Singleton will be laid to rest tomorrow during a private ceremony in Los Angeles.
For the past week, the worlds of Hip-Hop and Hollywood have been morning the sudden death of legendary director, John Singleton. Over the course of his iconic career, Singleton put his stamp on films such as Boyz N’ The Hood, Poetic Justice and Baby Boy. More recently, he shifted towards television where he directed episodes of Rebel, Billions, American Crime Story and Empire. Most notably, he worked to created FX’s critically acclaimed series, Snowfall.
Less than a full week after his passing, FX has elected to announce the third season of the crack-epidemic drama. It’s unclear how or if the show will honor the late director during the show’s premiere. Nevertheless, the show will return for its much anticipated third season July 10th. In addition, FX will be kick off a new season Legion on Monday, June 24th and premiere the first season of Baskets on Thursday, June 13th. In addition, FX shows like The Archer: 1999 will return on May 29th and Pose will start a new season on June 11th.
