The team Chaplin of the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers Sister Jean is celebrating her 103rd birthday and the city of Chicago has decided to honor her. Chicago has named the train station plaza on the Loyola campus after her in honor of her 103rd birthday. The sign at the train station in Chicago will read “Home of the World Famous Sister Jean”. She turned 103 on Sunday, August 21st. The longtime Chaplin of the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers rose to national fame during the 2018 NCAA Tournament when the team had a cinderella run to the Final Four.

During the ceremony and birthday celebration, Sister Jean was asked what she was looking forward to the most with the upcoming college term. She said the following: “Just being with the students. I just love being at Loyola.” The Ramblers are a fun experience each time they make the NCAA Tournament and perhaps they will again during the 2023 NCAA Tournament with their tea Chaplin joining them. The college basketball season is still a few months away and the Ramblers will be ready when it rolls around. We here at Def Pen Sports wish her a happy 103rd birthday.
