Self-imposed social distancing measurements have spurred the creativity of some of music’s fastest rising stars. During this troubling pandemic, Kehlani has used her time to shoot her own videos and work on the cover of her latest album, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. Farther north, Tory Lanez was taking his career into his own hands. The R&B sensation used his time to finish up The New Toronto 3, hold a virtual concert with YouTube and launch Quarantine Radio. Joining some of music’s best, Sinead Harnett has taken the time to produce a new song called “Quarantine Queen” from her home.
Produced by Linden Jay, Harnett’s new single reflects on the troubles of the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, she encourages us to continue to do more in spite of these tough times.
“What a time to be alive/Are we all just pretending/That the world isn’t ending?/I’m afraid, that I ain’t done enough/And if we go up above/I never learned how to love,” she sings.
“It’s about the right time for a change, oh, woah, woah, oh/Until we learn to understand/We’ll go back around this again and again,” she adds.
