The development of a new Shondaland is in full swing at Netflix. It was previously reported that no less than 8 new series from Shonda Rhimes were in development at the streaming service. And now, according to Variety, she’s got a new anthology series in the pipeline called Notes on Love with some HUGE names attached.
Notes on Love will tell different stories each episode about the “unexpected, life-changing, euphoric, hilarious, surreal, and all-consuming places where love intersects with our lives.” The first season will apparently revolve around marriage. Rhimes will be executive producing alongside Norman Lear and Aaron Shure, Steve Martin, Diane Warren, Jenny Han, Lindy West, Ahamefule J. Oluo, and Betsy Beers. Each of the producers will also be writing their own episode in the first season.
Since Rhimes’ 2017 deal to join the streamer, the company has made a push towards talent acquisition with similar deals. Most recently, Netflix signed Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins to a three-year deal. They’ve also acquired Kenya Barris and Ryan Murphy in the last few years.
Notes on Love has yet to receive a release date.
