The Indianapolis Colts have decided to name Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen as their next Head Coach. Coming off a unique offense that helped push the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII, the Colts are hoping he can bring new life to the team’s offense. The team interviewed several candidates including interim Head Coach Jeff Saturday but locked in on Steichen. The team could not hire him until after Super Bowl LVII, but now they can move forward and rebuild their coaching staff. With several issues to address, Steichen will need to move quickly.

This season the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense was dynamic and had new schemes that helped launch them into Super Bowl LVII. Several teams looking for their next Head Coach gave Shane Steichen a look, but the Colts were linked to him early and often. The new Head Coach spent several years working his way up with the Chargers before being named their offensive coordinator. From 2021-2022 he spent time redesigning the Eagles’ offense and becoming a top name in coaching searches.
The Colts will be entering next season with a new Head Coach and probably yet another new starting quarterback under center. While the team did consider interim Jeff Saturday, his performance was not up to team standards to close the team season.
