Actress Shailene Woodley has landed her next role and unfortunately, it won’t be with HBO. After wrapping up her most recent television role on HBO’s Big Little Lies, Woodley will hop over to Showtime. The star actress is expected to play the lead role in Three Women, a series inspired by Lisa Taddeo’s best-selling nonfiction book.
“Lina, a young mother in suburban Indiana whose marriage has lost its passion, reconnects with an old flame through social media and embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming. Maggie, a seventeen-year-old high school student in North Dakota, allegedly engages in a relationship with her married English teacher; the ensuing criminal trial turns their quiet community upside down,” a description from Simon & Schuster stated.
“Sloane, a successful restaurant owner in an exclusive enclave of the Northeast, is happily married to a man who likes to watch her have sex with other men and women.”
Woodley has not starred in a television series within the last two years. Most recently, she starred in The Fallout and The Last Letter From Your Lover. She’s also set to star in Misanthrope, a movie about a troubled cop who is recruited by the FBI to track down an elusive killer. The film is set to debut in 2022.
