Kentucky Wildcats freshman shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and plans to forgo his remaining college eligibility. He was once the number one recruit in the 2022 class before reclassifying and redshirting his first year at Kentucky. While he debated returning to school, he is projected to be a top ten draft selection and now plans to stay in the draft. Sharpe did not play a game for the Kentucky Wildcats. A strange case for this year’s NBA Draft.
Kentucky freshman Shaedon Sharpe will declare for the 2022 NBA Draft, and stay in, team sources tell me and @KyleTucker_ATH. NBA teams project Sharpe as a potential high draft lottery pick.

Head Coach John Calipari will likely add yet another lottery pick to his vast collection with Shaedon Sharpe. Potential is a big part of the NBA Draft and Sharpe is full of that. While he is a raw prospect as a redshirt he was allowed to practice with the team and surely picked up some things in that time with Kentucky. His potential talent and his obvious skill will get him drafted top ten and maybe even as high as five or six.
Shaedon Sharpe plans to stay in the NBA draft and not return to Kentucky, sources confirmed to ESPN. Former No. 1 prospect in the 2022 class, enrolled at Kentucky for the spring semester, but won’t end up playing a minute for the Wildcats. Elite guard and surefire lottery pick.

The 2023 NBA Draft has no promises for Shaedon Sharpe and it makes sense for him to head to the NBA this year while teams are this high on him. It is unfortunate that we will not get to see him play college basketball, but we will get to see him in the NBA.
