WBA Strawweight Champion Seniesa Estrada has picked a date for her 2023 debut. According to Michael Rothstein of ESPN, Estrada will fight WBC Strawweight Champion Tina Rupprecht on March 25, 2023 at a venue to be determined. The unification bout will act as a co-feature for a second bout that has not been announced yet.
Seniesa Estrada will enter the bout with a perfect record of 23-0 to go along with nine knockouts. The WBA champion fought three time in 2021 before cutting ties with Golden Boy Promotions in 2022. In November, she made her Top Rank debut with a unanimous decision victory against Jazmin Gala Villarino.
Tina Rupprecht also boasts an unbeaten record of 12-0-1 with three knockouts. She picked up the WBC title and has held on to her belt with a series of decision victories. Throughout her title reign, she has not fought outside of Russia. Furthermore, her bout with Estrada will likely be her U.S. debut.
Top Rank could pair a number of high-profile fighters with Estrada in March for a co-feature. Former super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson is looking to make his lightweight debut in 2023. Also, Teofimo Lopez is hoping to continue his 140-pound campaign in the first quarter of 2023. Not to be forgotten, Xander Zayas, Keyshawn Davis and Jared Anderson are all looking to get back into the ring early in 2023.
