The Oklahoma City Thunder made some significant additions to their roster at the trade deadline last season. Enes Kanter was one of their acquisitions from the Utah Jazz for the price of Kendrick Perkins. Kanter gave the Thunder an eager and aggressive low post presence that they didn’t have before.
The Portland Trail Blazers, who just lost their All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge to the Spurs, made a move on Kanter with an offer sheet reported to be a four-year, $70 million deal. Kanter can sign the offer sheet, but as a restricted free agent, the Thunder have the chance to match the Blazers’ offer. According to general manager Sam Presti, that is what they intend on doing.
Following from Anthony Slater of the Oklahoman:
Was able to catch up with Sam Presti. His comment on the reported Enes Kanter offer sheet: pic.twitter.com/bNjcjKGoJh

Presti quote was actually “planned in advance” not “plans in advance.” But intention clearly seems to be to match.

Interesting part of Presti’s comment. Thunder met with Kanter yesterday and “he expressed his desire to be a part of the Thunder.”
