ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports, Sam Bradford has informed the Eagles organization that he wants to be traded and also will not be showing up for any off season programs any longer.
The Eagles and Cleveland Browns completed a blockbuster trade for the Eagles to move up to the second pick in the draft in order to get one of the two top Quarterbacks in this upcoming draft. Whether the Eagles get Jared Goff or Carson Wentz, Bradford and his agent feel that he has done enough to secure the starting job for the future.
The Eagles signed former “>Kansas City back up Quarterback, Chase Daniel who played under Doug Pederson when the both were in Kansas City last season. Philadelphia signed Daniel on a two-year $12 million deal back on March 9th, which most thought was a pretty lucrative contract for a back up. Head Coach Doug Pederson had been so enamored with Daniel from his days in Kansas City and even thought that one day Daniel would be granted a starting job. That day may come sooner than belief now that Bradford has demanded a trade.
Bradford’s new contract is not worth one teams are looking to trade for, a two-year deal worth $36 million deal with $26 million in guaranteed money. The Eagles don’t have any plans to trade Bradford because they like their current situation at Quarterback, but if Bradford plans to skip out on mini camp and training camp, it will definitely cost him some money in fines, but could also lose his starting job if Pederson thinks Daniel can get it done for the 2016 season.
Eagles have been informed Sam Bradford wants to be traded and he will not be showing up for their off-season program any longer, per source.
