Ryan Garcia is setting up for a major return in July. According to Bad Left Hook, Garcia will fight Javier Fortuna at Crypto.com Arena on July 16, 2022. Promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, the bout will be aired on DAZN.
Garcia’s next opponent, Javier Fortuna, has picked up titles in three different divisions while building a record of 37-3-1 with a 26 knockouts. Fortuna’s most recent performance was a first-round knockout of Rafael Hernandez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Fortuna was scheduled to fight Garcia back in 2021, but the young fighter took some time away from the sport to address mental health concerns.
As for Ryan Garcia, he returned to the ring in April at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. He earned a unanimous decision victory against Emmanuel Tagoe. Now, he looks to take down Fortuna and secure a potential bout with fellow undefeated contender Gervonta Davis.
“Let me handle business [on] July 16th [and then] I’m going to get Tank. He was screaming the whole fight [that] I’m next, so let it be..December let’s get it,” Garcia tweeted.
Before Davis-Garcia can be made, the California native must get by Fortuna on July 16, 2022.
