Not too often do you hear about directors directing and writing scripts to the same film that they’re directing. However, this isn’t the case when it comes to Ryan Coogler. In speaking with Collider, Marvel president Kevin Fiege, revealed that Coogler is in fact helping out on the script for the 2018 Black Panther film.
“We have a number of writers on it including Ryan Coogler, who is also directing, he’s working on the draft right now,” Feige told the Collider. “Between now and the end of the summer there will be more casting announcements. We start filming at the very beginning of next year.”
Ryan Coogler has helped with the script of every movie he’s directed so far and they have all been great. Black Panther shall be no different. Black Panther will be in theaters February 16, 2018, but you’ll be able to see Panther in Captain America: Civil War on May 6.
