Friday night, the Houston Rockets defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 117-107. However, it wasn’t all good for the Rockets, forward Ryan Anderson went down late in the 4th quarter after contesting a DeMarcus Cousins layup attempt. The severity of Anderson’s injury was unclear right away, but further tests showed that Anderson had sprained his right ankle.

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said Sunday that starting power forward Ryan Anderson will miss the next two weeks with a sprained right ankle.
After learning his sharpshooting forward would miss up to two weeks, coach D’Antoni kept a positive outlook and stressed that they wouldn’t rush Anderson back too soon.
“The important thing is he can play two or three games before we get into the playoffs,” D’Antoni said. “And it looks like he will be on that timetable, we won’t push it, and we’ll deal with whatever and hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.”
As the season winds down, it will be important for Anderson to come back healthy and get his legs under him before the playoffs start. In the meantime, the Rockets must make do without him and finish the season out strong as the three seed in the Western conference.
