Russell Westbrook being the lone alpha dog on his team is the gift that keeps on giving. Sans Kevin Durant, Westbrook is putting up a staggering 31.8 points per game 10.3 assists and 10.6 rebounds and could be one of two players to ever average a triple-double in an NBA season. Unfortunately for Russ, there are three other NBA players who are having phenomenal seasons. Because of this, there has been much debate about which player should receive the coveted award.
In a recent interview with Dan Patrick, Steph Curry picked James Harden for NBA MVP if he had to vote right now and not for anyone on his team. This perceived jab, as most perceived jabs are, was taken to Russell Westbrook. In response to Curry picking Harden over him, Russell Westbrook had a typical Russell Westbrook response.
I don’t care. It don’t matter what he say. Who is he?
It is hard to say what Westbrook’s response was supposed to be. The question was clearly brought to his attention to get some sort of reaction and he supplied one. The MVP race will be an 82 game marathon, it should not matter to Russ who is the predicted winner at game 67. You can watch the brief interaction below.
