Philadelphia 76ers big man Jahlil Okafor has endured a number of trade rumors in his short career. Originally thought to be a key component to “The Process” Okafor has seemingly been forgotten, having been shutdown last season. Normally, a player dealing with this much negative traction would want out as soon as possible. However, according to Tom Moore of The Intelligencer, Okafor is happy in Philadelphia and thankful for his teammates and coaches.

The Sixers selected Jahlil Okafor with the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and still have high hopes for him. Knee injuries have hampered him during his first two seasons, but wants to be a part of the bright future the Sixers have. Okafor has long been a defensive liability and not seen as athletic enough for coach Brett Brown’s up-tempo offense, but his desire to be a part of the future is encouraging. Philadelphia will have a glut of big men with Okafor, Joel Embiid, Richaun Holmes, and free agent signing Amir Johnson.
