On defense, Parsons became the first rookie to post at least 80 tackles and 10 sacks in the season. His performance on a very improved defense in Dallas earned him the award unanimously. He is the first Cowboys rookie to win the award in the franchise history.
Parsons is the second member of the Cowboys to win an award in this year’s edition of NFL Honors.
As for Chase, he is the first receiver to win the offensive award since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2014. This season, he posted 1,455 yards, for an average of 18 yards per catch, and 13 touchdowns. Just to mention a couple of records broken by Chase, his receiving yards are the most by any rookie receiver surpassing Chad Jonhson’s 1440 yards and his 266 yards against the Chiefs in Week 17 was the most by a rookie in a single game.
Patriots quarterback ?Mac Jones? (5), Chiefs center ?Creed Humphrey? (2), and Chargers offensive tackle ?Rashawn Slater? (1) also got votes.
